Auchentoshan, Three Wood - Single Malt Whisky
Three Wood. What does that mean? The Auchentoshan Three Wood is matured in three different types of oak casks: Bourbon, Oloroso
and Pedro Ximinez Sherry. The Three Wood is a bit of a departure from the delicate style found in the rest of the Auchentoshan
portfolio. The Three Wood is a fantastic introductory Whisky for those just venturing in to Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Auchentoshan (Gaelic for "corner of the field") rests in the Lowlands at the foot of the Old Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking the
famous River Clyde - just a short drive from Glasgow. Classic Lowland style being triple distilled (Malt distillers in
Scotland's other regions double distill their Whiskies), making the resulting Whiskies soft, and quite easy to drink.

Tasting Note: Beautiful amber color. A complex nose of toasted malt, dates and figs with a prominent
sweet sherry quality. The palate is soft and semi-lush with sherry sweetness, nutmeg, allspice, and dried fruits. The dark, sweet
Pedro Ximenez Sherry notes dominate while still allowing the delicate flavors of the spirit to emerge. Loved by novices and
aficionados alike. $51.99 |
